Insiders Tip: Painting 101

#1
Here’s how to calculate your wall area to see how much paint you’ll need=
Multiply the height of each wall by its width.
(Do not subtract windows and doors unless they take up more than half of the wall)
Add all the walls together
Add 10% for future touch-ups.
*For two coats, double the number.

*One gallon per every 450 square feet

#2
Stop the paint can drips by putting a rubber band over the can, wipe the excess off on the rubber band and not the edge of the can.
#3
When painting a chair, wooden letters or a picture frame use thumb tacks or nails to prop the item up, so that your piece doesn’t stick to the surface.
#4
Save the paint trays, by lining it with aluminum foil first.

Happy painting!

Well, Hello!

My goodness the time has just flown by. I can’t believe it’s been a week since I’ve posted something on here. We have been very busy with getting everything together for the move and then actually moving.
We love our new spacious home, and can’t wait to doll it all up with pretty things.

I already have a list going of craft projects and new things to buy.

On Sunday I did this:
The Old Drawer
The New Drawer

(I used spray adhesive and fabric I already had to line the drawer.)

Next on my list is to cover the back of my bookcase with fun paper that I got from the craft store. And decorating the house for fall, I think I will get started this weekend.

Ps. I can’t believe it’s already November!?!?! Where has the year gone?
