DIY: Burlap Wreath

Spring time is finally upon us
(even though it certainly hasn't felt that way here in Central Texas)

So in lieu of the new season, I made a festive wreath for my front door.

Supplies Needed:

Wreath form
1 yard of burlap
Scissors
Ribbon

Steps:

Cut burlap into 1 inch wide strips
(length will depend on how thick your wreath form is)

Tie strip of burlap in a knot around the form

Continue this until you have completed the circle.
(you will need to move knots around accordingly to make sure the strips fit together tightly)

Finish by adding a decorative bow

Total cost: $10

Trending Now: Stripes

J.Crew

As you know when it's in, in the fashion world- it is also a very popular trend in the interior design world also.

Stripes- bold and beautiful

These floor to ceiling striped curtains create such drama and impact in this room.

A little something unexpected- paint stripes on the ceiling.

Add stripes in small amounts.

Try stripes in your own room- don't be afraid!

Insiders Tip: Decorating with White

For most, white doesn’t seem like the most appealing color to decorate with.
But what you may not know about white is it is one of the easiest, most crisp and chic colors to design around.

Take a small space for example; paint the floors and walls white. It will instantly make the room feel and appear larger and brighter.
And entirely white room is also very beautiful- the key is to add in many different textures and tones.
Having an all white space really brings out the different architectural details.
Or try even using white as the neutral background color. Pair it with daring bold prints and bright colors.

Hello March?

I can not believe it is March already!!
Seriously this year is flying by wayyyy too quickly.

& Now that another month has past, it has made me realize all the things I did not get accomplished in the last 28 days!

We decided to hold off on decorating the guest room (now soon to be baby's room) until we find out what we are having. Which won't be for another TWO months.
((PS. We are hoping for a girl))

I haven't had much energy to do much of anything after work the past couple weeks. And Corey started a new job with longer hours. So we are just exhausted lately.

So here's to another month of good days and good news.
