An Ode to Philip Johnson

July 8th, 1906 - January 25th, 2005

One of the most influential American architects in history.
After watching movies and researching Johnson, I felt as though I knew him for many years. His personality and sense of humor is contagious and his work is so inspirational.

Johnson is known for many beautifully designed buildings but, one of his most famous works is The Glass House, which he designed for himself in 1949.

Everything is placed in just the right spot, very minimalist and modern.

Another great building designed by Johnson in collaboration with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is the 39-Story Seagram Building (1956) on Park Avenue in New York.

The Four Season's Restaurant in the Seagram Building designed by Johnson and Mies in 1959.

Johnson's work is so wonderfully created; I love everything he has done.

I will leave you today with an inspirational quote from Philip Johnson..
"Early un-successes shouldn't bother anybody because it happens to absolutely everybody."
