Nine Projects- Three Months

Hello!
It has been far too long my friend.
I have been neglecting my blog and I feel terrible about it.
We have been very busy with family, work and projects- many projects.

Today I would like to share with you all the things you have missed!
My Facebook and Instagram followers have already seen what we have been up to- but I wanted to fill you in.

Found this beaut on the curb side (in the rain- might I add!)

And spray painted it- of course!
We are using it in the garage right now.

Here is another curb side find - It's from Basset and was in pretty good condition.
My husband replaced all the drawer glides, sanded it down...

Painted and replaced the cabinet hardware

Then- I cut cardboard the size of the drawers and covered it with fabric to make this insert for all of the drawers.

Since we are using the dresser in our master bedroom- I decided to make new curtains, to tie in the navy blue.

I painted a wall in our living room. And we got a fabulous new rug to tie all the colors together.
(See that wing back chair in the corner-- I found that on the curb side- can you believe it!?)

My husband and I made this awesome work bench and bar for our garage a couple weeks back.

You may remember this Post-- from 3 YEARS AGO!

Well, I FINALLY painted my Grandmother's jewelry box.
And I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Another blast from the past- this coffee table (from the same Post)
I found this coffee table at the Goodwill for $15 bucks.
We finally fixed it up and made it into a--

Bench for our master bedroom- notice the nail head accent!

And last but certainly not least- my husband found this chair curb side.
I spray painted it and reupholstered the seat with fabric to match our other chairs

In the meantime work has also been crazy busy- I will be posting about my latest projects soon.

Hope all is well in your world.

Five Design Trends for 2015

Gold Fixtures

Gold Fixtures- add such a beautiful sleek and sophistication, that you can't really achieve with stainless or bronze.
But don't be afraid to mix and match the gold with your stainless appliances.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper- helps create such a bold statement in a room. On just an accent wall or an entire space.
We are partial to Yorkwall.com & Thibaut.com

 Mid Century Accents

Pops of mid-century pieces around the home, help add character and usually come with a story about how you came across the piece.

Cowhide

Add warmth with cowhide rug

Blue Accents

Rich deep navy blues will be very popular through the year.

Guest Post: Arcadian Lighting on Texas Style

Hi there! I’m Joanna, a writer with Arcadian Lighting, a source for brilliant light fixtures like pendant lights and table lamps of every finish and style.

I’m a native Texan so this post was a lot of fun to put together. While the saying’s true everything is bigger in Texas, there are some quaint spots and homes here as well that are just as big in personality. I’ve shared below a few of the different styles you’ll find in Texas homes.

Texas Style Sitting Room
This is one of my favorite Texas homes. Iit’s located in San Antonio in an old industrial space. The space reflects such an eclectic mix of styles which I love. In this room I especially love the gallery wall.

Texas Style Living Room
A Texas beach house is a soothing combination of the hues of sea and sand. The space is so bright, open and inviting.

Texas Style Bedroom
A Texas size bedroom gets its own interesting touch of Texas with a set of longhorns above the bed.

Texas Style Living Room
This living room brings in elements of Texas with a cowhide rug, rich wood accents and leather.
Modern Texas Acrylic Bar
A Dallas home is a study in sophistication with an acrylic bar cart, modern art and traditional paisley wallpaper.
Texas Style Home Decor
In another room in the home above, a fuchsia dyed cowhide peeks into a little corner with an Asian-inspired chest and a modern print and drum light fixture.
Modern Texas Style Living Room
Modern Texas spaces are common in the bigger cities like Dallas and Houston and this living room is the perfect example. Southwestern elements are introduced to the room with woven pillows and rug just barely visible on the right.

Retro Texas Style Living Room
A Mid-Century modern room in Houston gets its own big touch of Texas in the cowhide rug. The pendant light is reminiscent of a large star.
